We are looking for a detail-oriented and strategically driven Pre-Sales Business Analyst to support the sales and solutioning process by transforming client requirements into well-defined scopes, estimates, and client-ready proposals.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring projects are properly understood, accurately scoped, and aligned with both business goals and delivery capabilities before execution begins. You will work closely with Sales, Account Managers, Project Managers, Technical Teams, and the Quoting Department to drive clarity, reduce scope gaps, and improve overall proposal quality.
The ideal candidate should have strong analytical thinking, structured documentation skills, commercial awareness, and confidence participating in client-facing discovery discussions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Discovery & Requirement Gathering
- Participate in pre-sales discovery and scoping calls with Account Managers and sales teams.
- Understand client requirements, business goals, and technical expectations.
- Ask clarifying questions to ensure complete scope understanding before estimation begins.
2. Quote Preparation & Scoping
- Own the end-to-end quote preparation process from inquiry to final proposal.
- Coordinate with technical leads, PMs, and quoting teams for effort estimation and feasibility validation.
- Ensure all proposals are realistic, accurate, and aligned with delivery capabilities.
3. Scope Definition & SOW Writing
- Prepare clear, structured, and client-friendly:
- Scope of Work (SOW) documents
- Proposals
- Requirement summaries
- Deliverable breakdowns
- Clearly define:
- In-scope vs out-of-scope items
- Assumptions
- Timelines
- Dependencies
4. Sales Coordination & Commercial Alignment
- Work closely with sales and account management teams to support deal progression
- Ensure proposals are commercially aligned while maintaining delivery feasibility
- Support clarification discussions during negotiation or revision stages
5. Quote Follow-Up & Pipeline Tracking
- Maintain tracking of all active quotes and proposal stages
- Follow up with sales teams on pending approvals or inactive opportunities
- Help ensure no qualified opportunity is missed due to process gaps
6. Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare monthly reports on:
- Quote volume
- Conversion rates
- Win/loss analysis
- Deal size trends
- Support leadership with reporting insights for forecasting and planning
7. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Delivery Teams, and Technical Leads to validate scope and complexity
- Identify risks, dependencies, or unclear requirements before project sign-off
- Ensure smooth handoff from pre-sales to delivery teams after project approval
Desired Skills
- 4–6 years of experience in Pre-Sales, Business Analysis, Solution Scoping, or Proposal Management
- Strong experience creating client-facing SOWs, proposals, and estimation documents
- Ability to understand business requirements and convert them into structured scopes and deliverables
- Strong commercial understanding with the ability to balance sales goals and delivery feasibility
- Experience participating in client discovery and requirement gathering calls
- Familiarity with WordPress, Shopify, WooCommerce, or custom web development projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong coordination and stakeholder management abilities
- Experience with CRM or PM tools such as HubSpot, Pipedrive, ClickUp, Jira, or similar platforms
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple quotes and priorities simultaneously.
