WordPress powers a large share of what Rivulet IQ delivers, and every project needs a developer who can build clean, reliable, and secure solutions without needing constant hand-holding. This role exists to do exactly that: develop custom WordPress themes and plugins, maintain and optimize existing sites, and deliver technically solid work that Project Managers and clients can rely on.
You’ll work closely with Designers, PMs, and senior developers to turn requirements into working, well-built WordPress solutions — with room to grow into more complex, architecture-level work over time.

What you’ll really be doing
1. WordPress Development
- Develop custom WordPress themes and plugins based on project requirements
- Extend and maintain existing codebases, keeping code clean, organized, and documented
- Implement WordPress functionalities including custom workflows, AJAX, APIs, and custom dashboards
- Build features using WordPress Hooks, Filters, REST API, and Cron Jobs as needed
2. Website Maintenance, Performance & Security
- Handle routine and moderately complex maintenance tasks — updates, migrations, and database optimization
- Support performance audits and implement speed, caching, and compression improvements
- Apply WordPress security best practices and hardening measures, and help identify vulnerabilities
- Escalate complex server-level or architecture issues to senior developers or the Technical Lead
3. Backend & Front-End Execution
- Work on backend tasks including database structure and custom logic development
- Build and refine responsive front-end components using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery
- Ensure pixel-perfect implementation of UI/UX designs across devices and browsers
4. Collaboration & Code Quality
- Work closely with Designers, PMs, and senior developers to validate requirements and clarify scope
- Participate in code reviews — both giving and receiving feedback — to maintain quality standards
- Follow WordPress coding standards and established team conventions consistently
- Flag technical risks or blockers early rather than absorbing them silently
5. SEO & Delivery Standards
- Implement SEO-friendly structures, metadata, and basic schema where required
- Ensure work meets accessibility and WordPress coding guidelines
- Support documentation and handover materials for completed work

Qualifications & Skills
Experience
- 5+ years of experience as a WordPress Developer, with a solid portfolio of custom-built websites
Must Have Skills
- Strong experience in custom theme and plugin development
- Good understanding of WordPress Hooks, Filters, REST API, Cron Jobs, and AJAX
- Working knowledge of WooCommerce and/or membership/LMS plugin integrations
- Solid proficiency in PHP, MySQL, and backend development principles
- Strong front-end skills: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, responsive development
- Experience with page builders such as Elementor, WPBakery, ACF, or similar
- Debugging and troubleshooting skills using tools like Chrome DevTools, Query Monitor, etc.
- Comfortable using AI tools to improve coding efficiency and problem-solving
